Outpatient counseling offers individual, family and group therapy for both children and adults. Individual and family therapy is typically provided in an office-based setting and, if appropriate, may be provided in a home setting to accommodate individual circumstances. Group therapy is provided in an office based setting. Services are tailored to meet individual needs and can address a variety of issues including, but not limited to:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Anger management
  • Interpersonal relationship issues
  • Difficulty coping with life’s challenges

Our children’s outpatient therapy services can also offer the following:

  • Support and guidance in understanding the child’s individual and developmental needs
  • Strategies to address difficult behaviors
  • Skill building to improve relationships with caregivers, other family members and peers

Children's and Adult Psychiatric Services

Our psychiatric staff will conduct a psychiatric evaluation to assess the consumer’s individual needs and based on diagnosis and symptoms, medication management may be recommended as part of the individual treatment plan. If medications are prescribed, our psychiatric staff will provide ongoing assessment, education and medication monitoring to support symptom reduction and follow through with the prescribed treatment plan.

Home and Community Treatment (HCT)

Home and Community Treatment (HCT) serves children aged birth through 20 and is designed to assist children and families in their natural environment who have a need for more intensive treatment than outpatient therapy. The focus of treatment is to improve the child’s functioning in the home and community and to assist the youth and caregivers in understanding their child’s diagnosis and related needs. HCT services can address a variety of individual and family issues including oppositional and defiant behaviors, physical and verbal aggression, youth who are at risk for out of home placement, and ongoing conflict with other family members, siblings and peers. The HCT team consists of a Master’s level clinician and a Bachelor’s level behavioral health professional. After an initial assessment the individual treatment plan is developed with the child and the family based on their stated needs. The HCT team will address both individual and family needs. Services provided include but are not limited to:

  • Psycho-education
  • Individual and family therapy
  • Behavior management
  • Conflict resolution and communication skill building
  • Social skills development and community integration

Children's Targeted Case Management

Case Management serves children birth through age 20 who have behavioral health needs and/or have a developmental disability; or for children 5 and under who have been determined to be at risk of developing a mental health disorder or developmental disability. Case managers will work with the child and caregivers to identify the child’s medical, educational, social, housing and transportation needs related to their diagnosis. After the individual service plan is developed with the family, the case manager will identify the services and supports available in the community to meet the child’s needs and will then assist the family in accessing those supports. Case managers will include caregivers every step of the way to increase their independence in meeting their child’s ongoing needs and can help with:

  • Making referrals for services
  • Building natural supports
  • Advocating for the child’s educational and other identified needs
  • Service coordination and monitoring
